I love playing in Virtual Reality. My favorite app is Tilt Brush but I have been working in Blocks as well and incorporating objects into my Tilt Brush sketches. Blocks offers the opportunity to create structured objects and Tilt Brush allows for freeform painting and expressive techniques. The differences of learning the strengths of these programs reminds me of learning the differences in Illustrator and Photoshop when I first began illustrating 20 years ago. I am using both of these programs to prototype initial ideas and sketches for virtual and augmented reality experiences.

I am currently working on a prototype for a children’s story that I wrote and illustrated. The ability to make my illustrations come alive in VR is my dream. The ability to create a 3D VR scene that can be experienced as well as imagined my is extremely powerful. Tilt Brush has finally offered me the opportunity to begin painting something closer to what is in my head. Combining my illustration and 3D space skills with VR offers endless opportubities. Of course it looks much better in VR but check back to see my VR sketches as I continue to develop and prototype my environment for my dream.
